Claudia P. Mirza
CEO
As Akorbi's founder, Ms. Mirza has served as CEO of the company since its inception and throughout its development. Her experience prior to Akorbi's incorporation includes management, project management, and documentation positions in Colombia and Texas. While in Colombia, she gained management experience at Tesis & Diseños and Spie Capag-Ismocol.

In Irving, Texas, she has held various positions within GTE, Genuity, and Verizon. Ms. Mirza specializes in process improvement in the fields of information technology and content management. Ms. Mirza is also the recipient of many business awards and recognitions. Recognitions include being featured in SCORE as a success story and in the Dallas Business Journal as one of the area's top 40 rising stars under 40. She has been nominated as a community
hero by the Metroplex Technology Business Council and was recognized as the Woman-Owned Business Enterprise of the year by the NCTRCA. Ms. Mirza was also awarded the Mayor's Entrepreneur Award at the Fort Worth Entrepreneur Expo®, the Microentrepreneur of the Year by Wachovia and ACCION Texas, and is a recipient of the Dorothy B. Brothers scholarship.
Ms. Mirza helps disadvantaged individuals and businesses find success by sharing practical advice and her own personal "lessons-learned." She was a panelist for the LATINA Style Business Series, and currently mentors small disadvantaged businesses, while also serving as an active board member of the PLAN Fund. Additionally, she co-chairs the Education Committee at the Association of Language Companies and co-chairs the Procurement Committee at the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Mirza's other community commitments include the donation of language services and funds for education to the Frontiers of Flight Museum and Groom Elite®.
Ms. Mirza holds two degrees in Business Administration with a specialization in Information Systems. She attended the prestigious TUCK-WBENC Executive Education Program at the Tuck School of Business and is currently undertaking another certificate in management from Cox Executive Education at SMU.
Ms. Mirza is a recent mother of one and enjoys training and breeding thoroughbred racehorses. |

Azam A. Mirza
President
Mr. Mirza has served as President and CIO since 2003. Once equipped with his capabilities, exposure to the big five technology companies, and leadership, Akorbi escalated to one of the fastest growing language solutions companies. Mr. Mirza brings to the company years of technical management experience from Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, the U.S. Navy Department of Defense and the National BioDynamics Laboratory. He specializes in technology, delivery services and ERP systems. Mr. Mirza also leads Akorbi's development team.
Mr. Mirza holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India. |
| Mr. Mirza is a father of one and his interests include breeding, owning and racing thoroughbred horses. He is a member of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association and the Texas Thoroughbred Association. A major personal accomplishment for Mr. Mirza was the winning of the Fiesta Mile, a prestigious equestrian stake race in the Southwest region of the United States. |

Michael D. McDaniel
Executive Vice President
Mr. McDaniel serves as Vice President, in Business Development. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. McDaniel served as Director over Southwest Operations for SCORE! Educational Centers. Prior to that, Mr. McDaniel was an Air Force Officer stationed at Beale Air Force Base in California.
Mr. McDaniel is currently on the steering committee of the Metroplex Technology Business Council.
Mr. McDaniel holds an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.
Mr. McDaniel enjoys sailing, SCUBA diving, racquetball, and music. |

Julia Raverta
Technical Director
Ms. Raverta has been with Akorbi since 2005 and leads the technical team in translations. She specializes in legal, scientific, and technical texts, and contributes experience in translating, copy-editing, and translation-team coordination. Ms. Raverta's past positions include work as a professional translator for various agencies and clients, translations department coordinator, translator for the International Journal of Forensic Mental Health, and translator of the Forensic Psychiatry Department of the School of Medicine of the National University of La Plata. Much of the beginning of her career was also focused on university-related work.
In the community, Ms. Raverta volunteers her time and expertise to further social causes. She is part of a multidisciplinary team - composed |
of health professionals, lawyers, and social assistants, among other professionals - whose purpose is to conduct research on some social issues related to domestic violence, filicides and risk of violence.
Ms. Raverta is a graduate of the National University of La Plata, in Argentina, where she became a Sworn Translator with an emphasis on the translations of scientific/technical, literary, and legal/business materials. Prior to earning her degree, she had already been working as a translator for many years, and while earning her bachelor's degree, she was awarded a university grant that enabled her to further her translation experience as an under-graduate student. As a part of the grant, Ms. Raverta held a position as a Research Assistant where she translated and edited scientific books and articles for International Journals.
Ms. Raverta loves cooking and has discovered a passion for gardening. |
